Parquet production: Press lines that set standards

The natural material wood tends to change depending on temperature and weather conditions due to its ability to adapt to its environment. For this reason, different construction types and production methods have always been used to compensate for the natural behaviour of wood. As one of the pioneers in the development of fully integrated press lines, we are aware of these challenges in parquet production and our lines enable top quality for two- or three-layer parquet.

From individual machines to turnkey production lines for parquet flooring

From the top layer preparation and production to the centre layer lay-up and press line to the surface treatment with complete lacquering lines and subsequent packaging – BÜRKLE sets standards with the lines for the production of 2-layer or 3-layer parquet flooring with regard to the quality of the end product.

Raw planks are fed into the line for the production of centre layer lamellas via an automatic infeed. The raw planks are automatically cut into scantlings and then automatically processed into centre layer lamellas.

The middle layer slats are positioned as a mat on the counter-draught via a shuttle. To save material, the slats can be placed on gap if required.

In the laying area, the top layer glued on one side is laid on the sandwich of backing and middle layer mat. A high degree of laying accuracy is absolutely essential here.

Following the pressing process, the parquet planks are cut into raw parquet planks using a cross-cut saw and then stacked fully automatically using a vacuum portal.

The produced scantlings are automatically cut into centre layer lamellas and divided into two different lanes. The cross-cut sections are distributed to the 2 lanes via a swivelling flap that only releases one lane at a time or forms a channel for the workpiece transport.

In order to increase the capacity of the mat production, two stations are fed with centre layer lamellae in parallel.

The slats provided can be placed on gap in the line so that the desired final dimensions are produced in a resource-saving way. Cords made of plastic or pure paper can be used as connecting elements.

The aligned and collected mats are stacked in layers on pallets. The stacking pattern is adapted in such a way that mat packs are stacked in a preselected number, staggered in relation to each other, and thus the feeding in the downstream press system is more effective.
